Maybelline Lip Product Overview

Today I want to do a overview of all of the Maybelline lip products that I own, show you them with lip swatches and let you know what I think of them. I probably have more lip products from Maybelline than I do anything else.

First I will talk about the Baby Lip balms.
Here is what Maybelline says on their website:

Why You'll Love It

No more basic lip balm

  • The secret: Exclusive lip renew formula
  • Protects and moisturizes for a full 8 hours
  • After 1 week*, lips are visibly renewed, virtually reborn
  • 6 varieties

I really don't like these I don't feel like they do anything for my lips. They rub off very easily. I would choose a nivea lip balm or similar instead of this. I usually just put paw paw cream on my lips which really hydrates them- especially after doing lip swatches!

Next I want to talk about the colour whispers. I couldn't find any information about them on their website, but I don't think they have been discontinued as they are still all in stores here in Australia. I find that they are very comfortable, their packaging is fantastic and they click shut so their is no worry about them bursting open in your handbag! They look really nice, they are more subtle they do have ones that are colourful so it is easier to ease into colour with these. I have 3 of them:

Pink Bombshell (285)

I have one of the Colour Drama Velvet Lip Pencils in Love My Pink.
This is what Maybelline says on their website:

Why You'll Love It

• Our slim pencil packs double the pigments of ordinary lipstick.
• Contours and fills lips.
• Nourishing oils enrich our formula for a smooth semi-matte, velvet finish.
It is very comfortable I really love this colour and I wear it a lot. It is also very pigmented and easy to use. I really want to pick up some more colours. These are said to be a dupe for the Nars Velvet Lip Pencils, I don't own any of them so I can't comment on that but when they are a quarter of the price I think its a great deal!

Colour Drama Love My Pink (130)

Next I want to talk about the Colour Elixir, everyone went crazy when they first came out! So naturally I went and bought one of the colours.

This is what Maybelline says on their Website:

Why You'll Love It

A SECRET RTIO OF CONCENTRATES
• POLISHED SHINE SERUM provides a lacquer effect
• POTENT COLOUR EXTRACT for saturated colour
• CONCENTRATED BALM wraps lips in cushiony comfort
REVOLUTIONARY PLUSH LEAF SHAPE APPLICATOR
• Provides high charge of colour and coverage
• Ultra-precise tip ensures even application
• Plush fibres for the smoothest feel
I find that they are very sticky and a bit uncomfortable on the lips, they do have some pigment but I don't find that they "provide a high charge of colour and coverage". I do quite enjoy the applicator. I don't quite understand what all the hype was about, they are just a glorified lip gloss in my opinion. So I would recommend that you save your money and spend it on a different product.

Sorry about the bad quality photo- I took this at night
Hibiscus Haven (085)

Next I want to talk about the one Colour Sensational Vivids colour that I have.

This is what Maybelline Says on their Website:

Why You'll Love I

Be bright and gorgeous.
  • Exclusive Vivid colours are brighter
  • Honey nectar formula nourishes lips

I find that these are very comfortable and definitely have bright colours! I love how they look. They last a long time. I don't have much to say about them because I love it so much! I would highly recommend them.

Lip Swatch

The final lipstick is my favourite it is a Colour Sensational Lip Colour this is what Maybelline says no their website:

Why You'll Love It

Fall in love with colour, all over again:
• Crisper colour from pure pigments
• Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
• Lip colour so rich, so stunning…it’s sensational
• 35 captivating shades
I definitely agree that it is pigmented and very creamy. They are very long wearing and comfortable. The colour itself is very comfortable. I love it and use it a lot.

105 Pink Wink

I hope that you enjoyed this post sorry if it was very long but I had a lot to talk about and I thought putting it all into one post would be the best way. Please leave any questions, comments or recommendations thanks for reading.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation

Today I am going to do a review on the Clinique Beyond Foundation. I have been using this for a few months so I have had time to form a opinion on it.

This is what Clinique says on their website:

Benefits: Moisturizing
Skin Types: Works for all skin types.
A foundation-and-concealer in one for a natural, beyond perfected look that lasts all day. Lightweight, moisturizing makeup covers thoroughly without clogging pores. Skin breathes comfortably, colour stays true, even through sweat and humidity.

Due to the rich pigment level that enhances this flawless coverage makeup, shades may appear deeper when first applied. Once blended completely and allowed to dry, Beyond Perfecting Makeup will melt into your skin for a Beyond Perfected flawless look. A little goes a long way!

I agree that it does feel lightweight, and that it has amazing pigment. I feel that it clings to dry patches though, I have normal to dry skin. It did not cling horribly on me but if you have very dry skin I would tell you to give it a miss. But if you have oily skin I think this would work well if you set it with a powder. I always have to set this one with a powder just because it feels tacky on my skin. It is very long wearing and I never have to touch up which I love. I find applying it with a beauty blender is the best way. I don't like touching up during the day so this one is perfect as it doesn't require it. I find that it doesn't go blotchy when you put cream blush on it which some foundations do. All in all I would say that this is a amazing foundation.

Finished result- no powder. Sorry about the lighting

Thank you so much for reading! Hope this helped you out

Models Prefer- Day to Night Shadows

I don't know if they have Model's Prefer in other countries but here (Australia) it is widely available in Priceline.  This palette is $10 and honestly I would pay $50 for it (spoiler!). It has such a nice variety of neutrals and it also has a nice purple colour called Overachiever. The shadows are beautifully pigmented and I always manage to get a pretty look when I use this palette. There is another variety of this palette so at some stage I will get it because I know I love the formula.
This is a fantastic beginners palette as it has some wonderful neutrals with a tiny pop of colour but it also has a double sided brush that is actually decent so you don't even need to buy a brush to use it.
The packaging is very similar to the naked 3 it is a tin and feels very secure.
Swatches L-R  Deadline, Voicemail, Overtime, Workaholic, Co Worker, Overachiever,   Coffee Break, After Hours, Hot Date, Happy Hour, Down Time

So if you can get your hands on it I really suggest you get it. Please share this post, comment and leave me any requests for posts!

Revealed 1 and 2

I was going to do separate reviews on this but I thought that I would combine it into one post so its easier to find. I am considering getting the third edition but I am going to wait a while on that, so if I get it there will be a post on that. I want to see a few more reviews before I decide whether to get it or not.
The Revealed Palettes by Costal Scents are $20.00 and are such great value for the price! Or really at a higher price range they are still great value.

First I am going to review the first one:

This palette is similar to the Urban Decay Naked 1 and 2 palettes. I don't own these palettes so I can't do a comparison but there are plenty of comparisons out there. This palette is a fabulous first palette as it is cheap and has a great mix of colours so you can get a lot of different looks from it. It is great for everyday wear or a night out. I think that this palette is a great addition to anyones makeup collection. I do have a couple of issues with the packaging. There are no names for the colours which is such a pain if you are a blogger or you tuber but I don't think the average person would care. And also there is no mirror so it isn't ideal for travel even though it is compact and would be great for travelling, the lack of a mirror means I am less likely to take it on holiday. But for at home it is fantastic. It is compact and even though the packaging is cardboard it is actually pretty sturdy so that is a plus. It has a strong magnetic closer which I love. There are 20 colours in the palette which is double the average Urban Decay palette which is over double the cost. The 3rd colour on the top row is one of my favourites.

Now I am going to review the Revealed 2:

This palette is very similar to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette which everyone went crazy about when it first came out. It is has a lot of pinky, burgundy colours which I love. But it isn't a colour that I would be able to use everyday for the rest of my life and be happy like the Revealed 1. It has some very pretty shades and great pigmentation but the first is definitely my favourite.
